Arricife

Shops: In Arricife in the street of Leon y Real is great for wheelchair access with most of the shops having street level access. In Arricife you can find bazaars and electrical goods shops, top brand watches sun glasses. Top brand clothes stores and some cheap clothes stores as well Cd & DVDs' shops. Off from the main street you can find some many other stores tuck away in the side streets however, access away from the  main centre streets is not so good, mainly due to the historic way in which the capital has grown. There are various street that are being turned into pedestrian only.

Market: Arricife has a market every Wednesday, Thursday & Saturday selling many local crafts along with various other products from the peninsular. The access for wheelchair user is very good all along the market area.

Playa Blanca

Shops: In Playa Blanca the main shops are along a wide wheelchair friendly pedestrian only street, has a range of products on offer from clothing to gift shops and supermarkets. Further shops, mixed in with many restaurants and bars, along the sea front, sell mainly gift type products are also wheelchair friendly. Access along this area is excellent although access to some shops could be better, but in the main a good place for wheelchairs.

Further into Playa Blanca is the Marine Rubicon which is purpose built and has excellent access to all of the shops and restaurants. Outside the bank at the marina is a wheelchair level cash machine and a lower level public phone booth

Once again you can find lots of shops from bazaars to perfume shops and clothing stores with great duty free stores. There are a good selection of restaurants & bars.

Markets; There are two markets in Playa Blanca, one situated behind the Sun Hotel group, sells mainly clothing and bags and is open every Saturday. The other can be found every Wednesday & Saturday mornings at the Marina. Here you will find a good selection of local goods & Crafts along with clothing, bags, jewellery and some leather craft stalls.

Puerto del Carmen
Shops: In Puerto del Carmen you can find all the same shops as in Arricife and more holiday souvenirs along the main promenade. Access along the strip has improved over the last few years but there are still some area's that are difficult to access in a wheelchair and some of shops that could make it easier to get around. Just outside the old town of Carmen is purpose built  shopping centre  called Biosphere with shops like Levis, Jack & Jones, Zara and many more. Access is good on all levels and accessed by a decent sized lift. Here you will also find disabled toilets.

Playa Honda
Shops: Playa Honda has a shopping centre called Deiland houses a good selection of shops and restaurants. Access is very good across all levels and the underground parking has good access ramps to and from the shops and dedicated parking bay for blue badge holders. Opposite Deland is a selection of other stores, selling a range of items from electrical to garden furniture, tools, DIY, food to toys for the kids. Access to this area is mainly by car, but once there, wheelchair access is fairly good. Outside of the main shopping centre a good selection of coffee shops and restaurants can be easily accessed. Away from the main area, however does have some problems with high curbs that would benefit from having curbs dropped and crossings made clearer.

Costa Tequise

Shops: The shops within Costa Tequise are spread over quite a large area and access is fairly good over all, The Curbs in some areas need to be dropped, but in general it is relatively easy to get around.

Like the rest of the island, you can locate a good selection of gifts, cloths and wine

Tequise

Market: Tequise market is the largest on the Island and is open every Sunday from 10am to 2pm, there are many, many stalls selling a range of products from locally produced goods, to jewellery, plants, swimwear, shoes, table covers, handbags etc etc etc. Wheelchair access is, in the main, not a problem taking into consideration the historic age of the town. Dedicated blue badge parking is close to the market. There are many food & drink bars in and around the area.

About Hire / Rent of Disability Equipment & mobility aides :

Rental /Hiring Prices & Fees on the Islands of Lanzarote & Fuerteventura

We are the only Disability Equipment & Mobility Aids hire company on Lanzarote that offers a daily hire rate (although we do have some mobility equipment that has a minimum hire period, this applies mainly to the smaller low cost products such as toilet seat risers, bath boards etc). We also reduce our rental charge depending on the complete hire period; the longer a mobility product is hired, the cheaper the daily rate. For all hires on Lanzarote there is no charge for delivery or collection, the only charge to you, our customer, is the daily rate x the number of hire days depending on the length of time that you hire the mobility aide and/or disability equipment for. For all hires on Fuerteventura  we do make a small charge for delivery & collection but like Lanzarote the only charge to you, our customer, is for the mobility & disability equipment that you hire. There are no hidden fee's or charges. Only on  hires of our electric beds do we charge a fee of 25e to cover the cost of the installation and de:installation time. There are no hidden fee's or charges what so ever. With some equipment it is necessary for us to charge a small deposit, refundable upon the safe return of our equipment at the end of the hire period, we will advise you of any deposit when we deliver the mobility Aide or disability equipment to you.
